Maybe it’s odd for me to optimize and run sites on Hugo, but I do enjoy it. There’s just a gratification in making your own theme from the ground up and getting high scores on performance analyses. One would think that just having a website in the first place would thwart off a barrage of emails from web developers and SEO professionals who somehow don’t get blacklisted emailing to everyone that they can find an email for off of any website.

After talking with several people I realized that there are a lot of questions regarding the Windows 11 upgrade. For those of you who don’t know, Windows 10 will no longer receive security updates after October of this year (October 14, 2025). It is recommended to upgrade to Windows 11 some time before then. In this post I will go through what I feel will be common questions regarding the update:

One of the major turns Microsoft is making in an upcoming update is to turn Bitlocker on by default. Even if a user has bypassed the requirement for an online account while installing Windows. If Bitlocker doesn’t engage correctly with the computer’s TPM chip during the enabling and encrypting process, it will very likely result in a prompt for the recovery key, and without it being connected to an online account, it won’t be recoverable from there.

So here comes a fun one, a big reason why strong right-to-repair laws should be enacted and preserved. Anyway, this laptop comes to me from a long-time client of mine, a Dell Inspiron 16 Plus. Chief complaint is popups and a jumpy touchpad. So I look at it. The popups were caused by the expired McAfee trial and I got rid of that. But my efforts were lengthened by the fact that the touchpad would “jump” when I’d go to click on something. Sure enough, I do some research into it to find out that it is a grounding issue with the touchpad. Which the repair is shown quite well in this video.
